Who is LAPFF?

Welcome to the Los Angeles Pasifika Film Festival (LAPFF), where the vibrant and diverse cultures of the Pacific Islands come to life on the silver screen. Founded with a deep-seated passion for showcasing the rich tapestry of Pasifika stories and experiences, LAPFF is a celebration of heritage, identity, and creativity.

Inspired by the need to provide a platform for Pasifika filmmakers to share their unique narratives with a wider audience, LAPFF emerged as a beacon of cultural representation and artistic expression. In its inaugural year, the festival captured hearts and minds with its compelling lineup of films that offered glimpses into the lives, traditions, and challenges of Pasifika communities.
Now in its second year, LAPFF is thrilled to continue its mission of amplifying Pasifika voices and narratives. This year, we are proud to present four outstanding films that delve into the complexities and beauty of Pasifika cultures, exploring themes of love, family, resilience, and tradition.

In addition to our stellar film lineup, LAPFF is excited to feature a special cultural presentation from the Kutturan CHamoru Foundation, based in Long Beach, CA. Through dance, music, and storytelling, the foundation will offer audiences a captivating glimpse into the vibrant traditions of the Chamoru people, adding an enriching dimension to the festival experience.

Join us as we come together to celebrate the Pasifika spirit, to honor our heritage, and to embrace the power of storytelling. Whether you're a film enthusiast, a cultural explorer, or simply curious to discover the beauty of the Pacific Islands, LAPFF invites you on a journey of discovery, connection, and inspiration. Welcome to our cinematic paradise.  This is Pacifika Excellence!
